This set of changes was a long time coming, but finally, here it is! Unfortunately, the special move icons we're used to are hard coded into the client, and cannot easily be re-enabled by code. Similarly, special moves appear to be hard coded into the client, so SE+ weapons may not have functional special moves.
To use special moves, you will need to bind the AOS special moves functions under Razor's hot keys->misc->special moves list.
Enabled AoS special moves
Special moves now cost stamina instead of mana
Mortal strike only affects players for 3 seconds
Infectious strike only triggers when the player has sufficient poison skill to level up the poison
You no longer need 60 healing/anat to have a chance to cure poison
You can now heal through poison and bleed, and a severe penalty
Magic resist now scales the damage of some spells, rather than being a straight pass/fail to block a chunk of damage
You can now place hidden stashes
Detect hidden can now reveal hidden stashes when used on the exact tile
Zombies should no longer drop gold
Zogs and blacks on special dye tubs
Order and chaos shields no longer have absurd AR
Disguise kits now allow you to pick your own alias
5th circle and above spells can no longer be added to spellbooks
Training dummies should now be good up to 60 skill
Injury points will no longer decay while the player is dead
Enjoy!
With regards to the message telling you how many points you have, I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I actually tried to do something similar before, but there's a problem with sending people messages on death, in that, well... they don't arrive. I will try either adding a timer, so, on death, it sends you the message after 5-10 seconds (should be ample time for the alive/dead transition to get out of the way. Alternatively, I'll set it so it sends the message on resurrect.
As far as the dkit goes, I was thinking of adding a name box to the dialog so you can just choose your own, subject to it not already being in use.
Boo! Come back soon.
I like that idea. I shall look into it.

Aha, you fell for my trap! Comrades, arrest the traitor!
"I wouldn't worry about it being 'legal,' no one will bother you for taking a house that wasn't being used. It's just common sense."
Someone might, but you know how it is in these bureaucracies... Stuff can take an awful long time to get to. Can probably claim squatters rights by the time anyone hassles you.
Have a good holiday.
Great posts! I wholeheartedly agree. Good characters have the world inflicted upon them. Great characters inflict their own vision of the world on everyone else.
Mister Isaac,
It's about Jake. Some time back, a Mister Jake Jeckel was brought in on burglary charges, but released due to insufficient evidence. I have reason to believe he's still operating as a thief.
The Captain tells me that since his release, there are rumours of his having broken into and robbed more houses, including the Captain's, which was vandlised by way of being filled with cats.
A note was left in a container in the Captain's burgled house, signed by one "Raven". We believe this to be the alias currently in use by Jake. This is the same signature as the note given to Mister Leon.
Yesterday evening, a Mister Finn Herrik confronted the that's been staying on your estate about stealing his gold. He said that he'd marked his coins, and if the girl turned out her purse, he'd be able to prove it was her. She did not comply, and the Sheriff, who was present, said that Herrik had no basis to accuse her, and told him to leave.
Finn was later seen threatening the girl by Miss Sasha. He reportedly used the words "you'll die for what you've done."
Later in the day, it was reported to me by Rurik Keres that he'd seen two people in the Keres estate, leaving your office. They were described to me as a man in green robes, and a man in dark armour with a blue bandana. The girl suspected that it was Finn, come to get his revenge, aided by Jake Jeckel, who is said to commonly be seen with:
- Some sort of robe
- A large square shield
After Rurik saw them, they bolted, and myself and Craystor were brought in to investigate. The girl, reporting that she knew where Jake hid out in the woods, showed us the way, and eventually, we were able to find the entrance to his hideout. After the girl bypassed the lock, we were able to search the premesis for evidence that Jake was involved in the crime.
In a box behind the bed, we found:
- Over four thousand gold
- Magic scrolls
- Gems
- A green robe and armour, matching the girl's description
As we were searching, a man stumbled in. Given the remote location, and the fact that he was wearing a robe and a heater shield, I can only assume it was Jake himself. However, with no basis to make such an accusation, we made him sit and watch while we rifled through the proceeds of his crimes, taking the evidence that would surely damn him, with him unable to object lest he damn himself. I would be lying if I said it was not a satisfying moment.
This is surely evidence that he has not mended his ways since his previous brush with the law, and that possibly, he was engaged with Mister Herrik in a plot to harm or kill the young girl.
I hope this information is useful to you.

Nice.
Creepypasta time!

"Daddy, I had a bad dream." You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darkness—it's 3:23. "Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?" "No, Daddy." The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness of your room. "Why not sweetie?" "Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy's skin sat up." For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can't take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you begin to shift.

[OOC: This is not necessarily canon, just one of the many ways in which Hoagie Grayner, Captain of the Covian Army, may have met his demise.]
Hoagie paced around the workshop, mopping his brow with a dirty rag before throwing it on the ground. The situation had gotten steadily worse. How long before the undead ravaged Cove? The larger population centres were falling to chaos, and it was only Cove's relatively remote location that had spared it from the worst of the madness.
He was confident, though. He'd save the day, he always did. He made a few notes on a scrap of parchment, took a swig of his ale, and turned to his invention. He'd done it now. With this, Hoagie Technologies would keep the undead at bay. He pulled the sheet off his creation.
"Meeeeeehhhhhhhhh!", the goat bleated.
He paused to admire Goatbow Mk. II. He'd done the impossible. A huge improvement over his wildly successful Goatbow, he did what the others said was madness. He'd succeeded where they said he could not succeed! A goat with a crossbow attached to both sides, he'd created Cove's first unmanned, multi-target, mobile ranged unit.
He laughed, thinking of the glory that his creation would bring after it saved the world. His laughter stopped when the goat's eyes gleamed with a hint of menace behind their usual glazed dullness.
"MEEEHHHHHH!"
"Steady, girl", he cooed at it. "Easy. Big day ahead of you."
"MEEEEH!" the goat replied angrily, striking a hoof against the wooden floor, stirring dust.
"Steady!" he bellowed as the goat charged towards him, head ramming into his gut.
He fell backwards, crashing into the counter and causing tools and parts to clatter to the floor. At the telltale mechanical click sounded from the direction of the goat, he looked up, eyes wide. The goat stared gormlessly for a moment, and then both bolts flew free. He was left with only a split second to regret leaving Goatbow Mk. II loaded before the bolts hit him, and his regret faded to darkness.
The ale bottle dropped from his now limp hand and rolled across the floor, coming to rest on an old copy of the original Goatbow poster.
Fast as a goat!
Accurate as a goat!
Deadly as a goat!
Hoagie Technologies proudly presents...
The Goatbow!
Dis UO es reel gud.
I see a dark night and I want it painted slightly darrrrker... no colours any more, I want them to turn slightly darrkerrr...
Since it was brought to my attention that the current town bell has the rather unpleasant side effect of summoning Chyloth, I have replaced it.
Double clicking on the town bell should now send a message to all players within 200 tiles that the alarms are ringing.
Enjoy!
The GMs already have their own version of the command. [whosonline was specifically to help players find out when other people are online. I do see how it can be abused, though.
