It's the Mayor's job to decide laws for us to enforce. Currently, having been abandoned by Cove, the village exists in an unsustainable legal void.

Mister Isaac,
It has been some weeks now since your victory, and under your management of the village, crime has risen to absurd levels.
Where are the new laws aimed at preventing these crimes, and clarifying the legal grey areas? Where is the leadership?
People have placed their trust in you, Mister Isaac, please don't prove them wrong.
Given the plague of picked locks, I request that you pass a law making lock pick ownership illegal, except for licensed locksmiths. Additionally, until the crime spree has stopped, I request that you make it illegal for people to resist being stopped in the street and at key locations for searches.
Do something, Mister Isaac.

OOC: All knowledge in this journal should be considered OOC unless your character legitimately knows it.
Aye, something like 1% for every 10 arms lore certainly sounds reasonable! I'll see what I can do.
Updated change log: http://wiki.midnight-watch.com/doku.php?id=change_log
With regards to private sections, I'm wary of them. It makes a little more sense for a group like the undead, but for example, there is no criminal "faction". There are people who follow the law all the time, people who follow it some of the time, and people who never follow it.
The days of all criminals reporting to the same leader and sharing the same information are gone, so it makes little sense for there to be a private criminal board. I would rather that any factions that arise make use of the existing in game methods of sharing information. Leaving books in private locations etc is a bit more exciting than a private board, and is interesting because these secret stashes can then be compromised.
Just my 2c.
Edit: To be clear, I'm not totally shooting the idea down - a private board is certainly more appropriate for the undead than the criminals. I'll have a word with Kraven, see what he thinks about a board for the undead.
Aye, sorry! I was maintaining a change log, but I've been a bit slow to update it recently. I'll bring it up to date and let you know.
I'd rather not make them stackable, or people might carry around loads. I do like the idea of including the old ninja belt though, I'll have a look at doing that!
That is not intentional, hmm. I'll look into it, thank you!
That's between you and your local carpenter.
Feel free to pester any available GMs to lock this stuff down for you.
I wouldn't be opposed to LIMITED safe storage if people really want it, but I'm inclined to echo Rake and Lineaus. If thieves start getting their hands chopped off when they nick something, they're going to stop nicking everything that's nailed down.
True dat. I'll add it to the todo list!
Currently the music spells don't do anything - that's something I'm working on!
Good point about the random spell choice, though. I'll have a look at the music box stuff.
Hrrhm. Like, double click empty bottle, target spider corpse? Sounds interesting!
Hm. Currently arms lore only adds a bonus to weapons, so it's possible that you only gain from making weapons.
Hmm, odd. At least we can blame EA instead of me, then.
Ily, give me a shout when you're online (and I'm not at work) and I'll come see if we can get you moving again.
Ily, when you say the macros don't work, do you mean the razor ones, or the Ultima ones? It could be that while the new client has them listed (they were brought in in a relatively recent update, I believe, with the new targeting system), the server doesn't have the code to support them.
Can anyone verify the issue with arms lore not raising?
Poor old undead have been getting a hard (though frankly deserved) time of it, aye. We'll reduce it from 70% to 40% and see how things go from there.
I think the problem is, you need to bypass the original client encryption to connect. I'm not sure UOAssist is able to do that, but Razor can.
If anyone knows of any other tools one can use to connect, it'd be appreciated.
2 hours, and no.
As you may have noticed, the knowledge base and profiles boards now point to our brand new wiki.

I find it to be a much better way of presenting relatively static information than a forum, and the way it lets you link pages of lore together is really great too.
It should be relatively painless to make an account, so go ahead and contribute, update your character profiles, and make sure your contributions to the world's lore are preserved for all eternity.

Id like to have special moves in.
Special moves are something I'm happy to consider (provided it won't damage the balance of gameplay), so I'll have a look at that if it's a popular idea.
And displaying more on weapons/armor if at all possible...as in damage, speed, armor rating and durability.
I'm not keen on this. I feel that things such as individual item properties are beside the point of the shard. I don't want to create an environment where people pick a weapon because it's 0.1 seconds faster than the other, rather than because it's what their character would use. I would be willing to enhance Arms Lore so that it gives a bit more detail, but nothing like the stats that were displayed post-AoS.
And the ability to grow herbs/reagents somehow. And as Ive said to Hoagie already, a post office.
I like these ideas! However, that's something that needs to be coordinated IC, and a GM should be happy to spawn the appropriate items/structures, based on the players providing the appropriate resources/manpower.
Oh one more thing, weapons and armor wise. I would love to have it so only durability was a factor in wear and tear and not AR and Dmg. And durability drops a little each time its repaired, but the efficiency of it never gets worse over time, that way you can bond with your weapon/armor and not always look for a new one that has "fresh dmg/defence"
Currently, armour takes a pretty big hit to its max durability every time it's repaired. I'll have a look at reducing the amount of effectiveness that gear loses when at low durability, so that people don't have to replace their gear after every fight. However, I don't want to compromise the utility of crafters! I think it's great that there's currently a lot of need for them, but a balance does need to be struck.
Aiiee I also want a fletchers shop somewhere, I can even "build" it myself with inside UO so you don't have to do anything but copy that build. Location isn't important as long as its not in the swamp:):)
Want a fletchers shop, eh? I'm sure we can work something out, but shops don't grow on trees! You'll need to gather the resources, and pay people IC to do the construction. Hit me up on ICQ and we'll talk detail.
Looks like you have my vote, Mister Miller.
